- The control board is damaged.
- The control board is not receiving any voltage or current.

So the first thing to check is that the electrical circuit that carries the voltage and current to the control board is in good condition.
Most coffee pod machines have thermal fuses in the circuit, protecting against short circuits and overvoltages. However, this will not be a component to check in Tassimo coffee makers since most models do not have it.
These are the steps to follow to check the good condition of the circuit:
- Make sure that the wall outlet is OK. Plug in another appliance and check that it works.

If the capacitor is to blame for your Tassimo coffee maker not turning on, you will probably have noticed a loss of power some time ago. The coffee maker serves colder coffees, uses less water and the lights come on much dimmer.
If you know how to solder and know little about electricity and electronics, you may be encouraged to replace the damaged capacitor. First, you should note the data on the capacitor and measure its capacitance. If the capacitor fails, buy a new one and replace it.
